A Week Late - but Here!!!

NO - NOT THE MISSIONARIES - THE PICTURE!! We had quite a time getting everyone here on time, or finding out why they weren't here. When the dust settled we were two shy of what we expected - but we are very pleased with the large group we do have. There are ten different countries represented in this particular group - and for the first time since we have been here we have more French speaking missionaries than English - that would even have been a larger French speaking group if the other two who didn't come, had arrived (one was from Ivory Coast - the other from France). As it now stands there are 21 who speak french coming from Ivory Coast, D.R. Congo, Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Benin and Tahiti. And 14 who speak English coming from Nigeria, Ghana, England, and Ethiopia. Our Elder from Ethiopia had visa problems and was delayed a day - but luckily that was at his home airport and so it wasn't too serious in terms of displacement. The group is highlighted by our first missionary from Benin -a small french speaking country between Ghana and Nigeria. He is well prepared and represents his country very well. Another first with this group is that we have two districts for the french and two for the English - making four districts - we had to re-recruit our two former teachers, the two Mintah brothers to help us with this group.
THANKS TO A THOUGHTFUL PARENT - WE HAVE DISCOVERED YOU CAN ENHANCE AND ENLARGE THE PICTURE BY SIMPLY DOUBLE CLICKING ON IT. THAT WAY YOU PARENTS CAN GET A BETTER LOOK AT YOUR MISSIONARY.
To those parents and others who have left comments on our blog, thank you...we have just discovered them as well. Don't fret...we have a better understanding of young men and young women than we do of electronics and websites and blog spots. FYI...the MTC will not have missionaries in training following this group for just one session, as we paint, fix and renovate, in order to maintain this beautiful building.

Comments:
This is SO cool! It's great to see Elder Leppard looking so English! It's good to see all the missionaries in his group. Have fun over there in Ghana...
Love from Amie & Amanda
