Our August 17 Arrivals

For the benefit of several moms reading the blog - here they are - your sons and daughters as of Sunday, August 19 - what a great group and you probably notice the white effect on the picture - probably caused by not enough "contrast" in our group - this is probably the highest ratio of non-African missionaries to African Missionaires - and we are very happy to have them all. Unique about this group is our first missionary coming from Australia to serve in West Africa - Elder Jarvis who is tucked away on the back row - on the left. We have six Americans - five of which will be going to the new Sierra Leone Mission - four Nigerian sisters, two from South Africa (actually Elder Jele is from Botswana) one from Kenya, one from Tonga, and the rest from Ghana here. It is a nice break to have a smaller number, our last was 34 and our next is going to be 37, so we appreciate the chance to get just a little closer with this group than we can with the larger ones.

Comments:
What a beautiful picture! Thank you for updating it so quickly -- it was wonderful to see my smiling son there with all of his fellow missionaries :)

Actually, this is just a question--is the mail system very reliable? I've not yet had any communication from my son other than the email you let him send on the day he arrived. If the mail system isn't to blame, please tell Elder Gibson that his mother is PATIENTLY waiting *-*

Hey, Im a Elder Whitlock fan!!
Im so glad that there is a Blog i can go to to see these elders, from what ive tried, they're kind of hard to reach any other way. This is great, thanks so much!!!
